David and I live around the corner from Anne and John and I am not sure when we first met but perhaps at a neighbour's Christmas drinks party many years ago. For some years we shared a garden waste collection which meant we chatted regularly on Sundays about how many bags we each had that week! Anne was always lively, sensitive and full of life, I loved seeing her in the neighbourhood and stopping for a chat. The chats became longer and more intense when Anne was planning to get Beckett as we also have a dog (Finn is a huge standard poodle) - only a few months older. She was devoted to Beckett, taking him to parks all over north London to keep him happy, and taking very good care of his health! We also remember fondly a very enjoyable lunch party in Anne's lovely garden with other neighbours a few years ago. She photographed us for her degree show and impressed us with her attention to detail. She had a talent for persuasion as she got us into rather funny yoga postures for the shot. Later she did a portrait of our son Josh with Finn for her book. I was so impressed she finished the book and published it early this year, we will cherish our copy, thinking of her and Beckett whenever we see it.
