My Friend

The moment I met Anne i just knew we were going to be friends.  We met at Westminster Uni and like many we were passionate about our photography.  But, it wasn't just the photography there was more, maybe the humour, the spark we shared.  From that day onwards there are so many memories.  Anne had that "can do" attitude, she was passionate about life.  I loved her for it and together with our group we were creative and enthusiastic together, helping each other.  Lecturers would say that they hadn't seen such good team work, inspiring each other and with Anne we achieved this.

November 2019, for one reason or another only he two of us went to Paris Photo.  As always it was an exhausting but inspirational trip.  We checked in for the Eurostar train home and gathered some snacks.  Always the way we had arrived earlier than our due train which we were booked on.  We could see the earlier train waiting for all passengers to board and with a twinkle in our eyes we thought why not?  Let's go, no seat reservation for the train let's just do it.

You can imagine the anticipation, the waiting to see if somebody would want to sit in our seats, if the guard would come and check our tickets - the tension.  The train left Paris, nobody came and we chuckled to ourselves, maybe from nerves.  Treating ourselves to a hot chocolate Anne said, "Ooh it would be nice with a whisky", and so it was; Hot chocolate with whisky, delicious.

We arrived in London feeling euphoric and skipped off into the night.  Anne knew how to live, to embrace every day.  It's been such a wonderful pleasure having you in my life.  I will be forever grateful.
